My FASHION For SHOES

It’s transition season Ladies, it’s time for the Annual Spring Shopping. If you thought I was going to say cleaning you must be new to LR. Spring 2011 Fashion Report SDLR’s LR breakdown on the Shoe styles walking the Runway, running the nightlife and residing on my feet for Spring 2011.

Quote for Spring 11:
“The Platform/Wedge is making a come back this spring! The platform is the new rage, trend and the spring (go to) shoe across the world.”

Makes me laugh every time because the flipping platform/wedge never left my closet or my Grandmother’s closet and is NOT a TREND it’s a TRADITION! The look has been the trend: shape, color pattern and material!
(Just had to get that off my mind)

The “LOOK” of 2011 Spring Platform/Wedge. As always straw raffia Wedge the wood chunky platform. Leather or patterned platforms. Clothed wedges in amazing earth-tones and making a come back the FLATFORM from the 70′s.

Don’t Vault: The flatform was for the 70′s not 2011! Keep this trend out of your vault. Flatform is unflattering and The Spice Girls will be pissed.

Don’t Vault: Let the straw wedge shoe go. I am Over it ladies!

THE STRAW raffia braided twisted strung hung whatever you call it wedge no longer resides in my Vault or my 2011 Spring Shoe budget. This look has become a mass produced over the top in every vault wedge. Who wants to purchase a Normal Wedge that everyone wears? Take the time to find a pair of clothed pair in earth-tones instead. If you miss your raffia go make a straw hat just away from the pedicured toes please.

Do Vault: Floral pattern Platforms I love love love so fun and so cute. The flower floral is a huge hit this spring. Wear your floral prints for Day outfits not evening.

Do Vault: Chunky Wood Leather platforms. Daily Driver never fades and will always be a go to shoe. Could be worn Day and Night.

Do Vault: Loving the new look of clothed wedges, lace, fun patterns and leathers. Tip: look for amazing buckle hardware.

This has been The Platform/Wedge Trend report of Sdlr for Spring 2011.

New Years NO NO’s

Ladies for 2011 the New Year means the New You.
I admit I have my New Year’s Shoe but nothing to wear with them JUST yet! And as I was shopping for my outfit I tried on theses sparkle heel boots (which are cute but not my new years shoe) and wanted to share my NO NO’s on New Year’s.

I will not wear anything that is SPARKLE FARKLE  sequin shiny unless it’s on my foot, because it’s the obvious go to for New Year’s celebration outfit. Let’s let the ladies that don’t come to LamasRichie.com for their fashion advice be the shining sequin so yesterday situations and let’s get serious.

Don’t wear black you’ll stand out in a Grinch kinda way.

Don’t do sequins this evening you’ll blend in with the confetti.

Don’t do all White (cream is an option).

Don’t wear anything that you have worn before even if you have to borrow make or trade wear something New to you.

And my final tip for the tick tock clock celebration let’s try and Not Match our shoe with our outfit.

Think (bright blue shoe with a silver satin dress) sounds fun or a Bright red shoe with a Navy satin top. Don’t blend in and don’t do a neutral look be fierce. Lol whenever I say fierce I think of Trya Banks dammit. Anyway Good luck I’m hunting today.

Designer Disaster

Sam Edelman was the grandson of a founding partner in the Fleming-Joffe reptile tannery that supplied exotic leathers to the shoe trade. Sam’s father, Arthur, joined his father-in-law’s tannery in 1952 but closed the business in 1776 due to an increasingly environmentally aware marketplace. Instead, Arthur and his son opened a shoe business, which supplied the first shoes to appear in Ralph Lauren’s collection.

Sam Edelman went on to develop a shoe division for Esprit in 1985 with his wife, Libby, and in 1988 they launched their own label Sam & Libby. Their first product a ballet flat, was a huge success but additions to their line were never as popular. In 1996 they sold the worldwide rights to their trademarks to Maxwell Shoes.

The Sam Eldeman shoe you see today on the floors of department stores is the fairy Tale ending for the Eldeman Name. And created by a descending family member who wanted to finally bring in the much Grandfathered success.

Much love for this family and you know you’ve created a shoe line in demand when every other designer is copying your heel.
Jessica Simpson I love ya girl but what’s the point of calling yourself a shoe designer if you are just copying someone’s else’s design.

Should Jessica Simpson be proud of the Millions of Dollars she has made by stamping her name on a heel? Or should she earn that millions and start creating her own designs? Hmmm

Fashion Photo

Everything in this picture is absolutely working for me. I realize half the time the runway or pictorial ad model is just show (smoke n mirrors), but I would actually wear this ensemble as is.

The cotton Givenchy jacket paired with Miu Miu dotted print shirt and shorts oddlly flows with the leapord prints and doesn’t make me wana throw up my chai latte.

Umm check out the bangles she’s wearing… can we say hand painted Alexis Bittar bangles. My husband bought me a beautiful Alexis bangle about 3 months ago when the collection arrived in stores he said this is a designer who will become massively known.

Last, but never first… the pony hair clutch by Giuseppe just about sealed the deal for me. So let me ask you cute or not cute?

I Am A Hunter

“I am a Hunter.”

My God granted me a beautiful talent in life, the ability to hunt and gather goods to create dreams in every department of the Vault. I can create long beautiful flowing seamless drapes for my home out of my Pima Cotton sheets or an Old dusty vintage broach into a glistening hand piece (pictured above).

I think everything has a purpose. If you become a hunter in life you will be able to save your dimes and have timeless creations. As a hunter you will have the confidence to put together a beautiful ensemble with 50 dollars and or 0 dollars just by your imagination and creation.

I could not shop the way I do if I wasn’t a hunter in the stores. I have been around the world and you might not know, but surprisingly have walked the shops in every state of America. I can tell you “Money is never a factor in style, money is only a factor in trends”. Looks for less are on the way my Ladies. I will teach you how to become a hunter.

Casual Dressing For The Scene

Dressing for the night scene can be frustrating. Sometimes I don’t feel like wearing a tight mini dress or skirt every flipping time. I hit the scene for some social time!

Like Kim K and many others the short tight cluby gear is getting old and they should mix it up. I always tend to go opposite if I’m out with my girls. When they wear the tight club uniform, I go casual sexy with a short cashmere off the shoulder sweater.

Try it, you’ll stand out and add some fresh fashion sense to our much over-rated bebe club dress.
